SINOPSIS THE LEGEND OF THE BLUE SEA || Terinspirasi oleh legenda Joseon klasik dari koleksi pertama Korea cerita sejarah resmi, tentang seorang nelayan yang menangkap dan melepaskan putri duyung, drama ini menceritakan kisah cinta antara anak seorang keluarga bangsawan di era Joseon dengan seorang putri duyung.
Bagaimana bisa putri duyung dari era Joseon bertahan di zaman modern Seoul? Shim Chung (Jun Ji Hyun) adalah putri duyung yang menemukan dirinya dipindahkan ke zaman modern. Dia ditangkap oleh Heo Joon Jae (Lee Min Ho), dia menarik tapi dingin dan juga seorang penipu adalah doppelganger untuk Kim Moon, putra seorang bangsawan dari Dinasti Joseon. Tapi di saat ini, Joon Jae bekerja dengan Jo Nam Doo (Lee Hee Joon), seorang penipu terampil yang memandu Joon Jae menjadi scammer jenius. Tapi teman Joon Jae, Cha Shi Ah (Shin Hye Sun), yang bekerja sebagai peneliti di KAIST, mungkin satu-satunya harapan Chung untuk bertahan hidup di dunia baru yang aneh.
